Wedding Lipstick Trends 2019

Whilst a bride can never go wrong with a natural, glowing look for their big day, there are some recent trends that are just too beautiful to ignore. Whilst I wouldn’t recommend straying too far from your usual look, for example, a deep bright lipstick if you are used to natural makeup or none at all, there are ways to take qualities of the below looks and adapt them for your own interpretation. Makeup is limitless and the boundaries, limitless.

I’ve rounded up the most stunning and glamorous trends in the world of lipstick for 2019 to share them with you. There’s something for everyone!

Coral lips

We wrote about the Pantone colour for 2019, a stunning coral which can be incorporated into wedding looks seamlessly. If you’d rather not go the whole hog on the colour, a pop of it can be used for your wedding lipstick. I would recommend Tropic Tropic by MAC for a high colour payout.

Plum shades

While we’re used to seeing pretty pink lipstick hues for brides, a darker plum shade such as Plum by Laura Mercier packs a punch and would look beautiful for an autumn-winter wedding, with natural glowing skin and minimal eye makeup.

Balmy finish

A healthy, sheer look with a hint of pigment is perfect for brides who prefer a more natural look. You can avoid worrying about colours feathering or having to reapply. For example, Glossier’s Balm Dotcom layered over Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk lipstick will soften the colour, or NARS Afterglow Lip Balm is the whole package!

Orange-red lips

Even bolder than coral, a orange-red lipstick is a modern take on the classic red. I am loving Lady Danger by MAC – it’s matte, which avoids flashback in photographs and will stay put for longer. At your trial, we will check your skin tone, to find out which shade works best and flatters you the most.

Makeup is so versatile and you really can create a look that works for you. If you’re unsure, feel free to get in touch with me to discuss your options!
